Customer Review: Using a Vornado in an open room

The Vornado has a harder time warming the air in an open room. My living room is open to a hallway and the dining room, so the Vornado by itself would be fighting a losing battle. But if I run a small ceramic heater on one side of the room and the Vornado catty-corner on the other side I can create a warm area to sit in during the evening. In an enclosed bedroom the unit does a really good job even with my 12 ft ceilings. I tried an oil filled radiator heater and the only warm area was right above the heater - the heat just stayed up by the ceiling. I returned that after only 4 days. The little ceramic heater by itself only created a small area of super hot heat right in front of the unit - the rest of the room stayed cold. The Vornado allows me to keep the furnace set to 60 degrees and yet enjoy a warm 68 degrees in the room that I am using - even if we are using the livingroom.
